Dr. Joseph Bava graduated from the University of Rhode Island, College of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Pharmacy. He practiced as a Registered Pharmacist before receiving his medical
degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1993. Dr. Bava completed his internship at
the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey and went on to complete his surgical training at
the University of Pennsylvania, Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia. He is Board Certified in Foot Surgery
by the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Board of Foot and Ankle
Surgeons, also an active member of both the American Podiatric Medical Association and Virginia
Podiatric Medical Association. He has been practicing in Virginia since 1998, and has been involved in
training Medical and Podiatric Residents attending the Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Bava has
extensive surgical experience in Foot and Ankle procedures and is interested in all facets of Podiatric
care. He enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and being involved at church. He welcomes
all new patients.
